ZEE Sandwell & Birmingham Mela

UK'S BIGGEST MELA

ZEE Sandwell & Birmingham Mela is the biggest Asian music festival in UK. Music, dance, food and traditional arts and crafts bring the sights, sounds and spicy aromas of South Asia to Victoria Park, Smethwick on 1st & 2nd July 2017. We stage biggest names in the UK and International Asian entertainment scene perform on the stages at the Mela!

Over 100 artists and groups are set to perform at the event including Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, chart-topping artists Zack Knight, Sudesh Kumari, Dilpreet Dhillon, Hashmat Sultana and many more!

Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff will be taking on the main stage at the Mela for the first time. Since Tiger is playing a die-hard Michael Jackson fan in the dance flick Munna Michael, we can expect him to flaunt some of his smooth moves that will take us down memory lane to Michael Jackson’s performances. Tiger has trained under international choreographers who have worked on ‘Step Up’ as well as choreographed routines for the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce. Now armed with that training, we are sure that Tiger Shroff’s performance will be one visual treat.

Famous TV stars Meera and Abhishek from &TV’s leading show ‘Chupke Chupke’ will also be attending the Mela to meet and greet their UK fans.

70,000 people attended the two-day festival in 2016 and, now in its seventh year, the event is set to attract people from across the region and further afield.

Danny Singh, Director of ZEE Sandwell & Birmingham Mela, said:

The Mela is a create opportunity for all communities to come together and celebrate South Asian culture in the heart of UK. We always ensured that the Mela is the very best summer experience in the UK for the community and this year will be more exciting as we bring more highly innovative programming and experiences to the Mela

Councillor Richard Marshall, Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for leisure, said:

The Sandwell & Birmingham Mela is a hugely popular event in the heart of Smethwick – there’s always a great community atmosphere. It’s an opportunity for people from Sandwell, Birmingham and right across the country to enjoy a wide range of entertainment and the rich cultural diversity Smethwick has to offer in one of our Green Flag parks.
